Went on a bus trip to Philadelphia yesterday with my wife Kat and friends Phil and Ruth. Decided not to lug a bunch of photo gear and just try to come up with a couple of cool images with my D300 and an old 28-85 zoom, not prime zoo photography gear. I was wishing for a long lens a few times, but I think I came up with a couple of decent images anyway.
Spent a couple hours this morning checking out the damage from Susquehanna River flood waters. The mighty river is back in it’s banks along Long Level and Wrightsville and shore line residents are moving back into their homes and starting the effort of cleaning up after Tropical Storm Lee.
It’s been a crazy week covering the weather here in south central PA. With the Susquehanna River overflowing it’s bank, I’ll be back out later today and tomorrow covering the flooding but thought I’d post some of my favorites from the week so far.Spring Grove verses Red Lion girls volleyball
Was shooting a Central League baseball game in Glen Rock this evening. Thunderstorms threatened several times but the only problem we had were a minute or two of really strong wind. Turned around from the field to keep dirt from the infield from blowing into my eyes and saw this.
The woman’s umbrella blew apart in the strong wind and her granddaughter tried to help her. Got a few frames off, this was the best of the bunch.
I’m slowly working my way through the 1800 + images I shot at Mike and Sarah’s wedding yesterday and had to share this frame from their last dance. This photo would have been almost impossible a year ago, the new generation of Nikon cameras and their ability to record quality images at high ISO’s are truly amazing.
